5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) Management Has Been Comprehensively Launched
On March 17, the Company convened a kick-off meeting for deployment of 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) management, outlining the objectives, action plans, and specific measures. Acting President Lin Xu attended the meeting and delivered a speech, with Vice Presidents Li Ji and Haytham Zamzami also in attendance.
Acting President Lin Xu mentioned that over the past year, the Company has successfully completed TA/revamp tasks, effectively enhancing standardization of on-site operations, thereby laying a solid foundation for the comprehensive implementation of 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) management.
Lin Xu emphasized that, need to improve our mindset alignment and profoundly understand the significance of implementing 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) management. The implementation of the management is closely related to strengthening the Three Basics (enhancing the construction of frontline organization, basic work and fundamental skills) representing an urgent need to transform mindsets, elevate work standards, and enhance intrinsic safety. It is an inevitable requirement for driving the standardization and refinement of management, as well as a powerful practice and concrete action to propel the Company toward achieving its vision. The entire Company must reach a full consensus, review past practices, summarize experiences, learn from lessons, unify thoughts and actions, and take the kick-off meeting as a mobilization order to comprehensively initiate the initiative and engage all employees in advancing the management. It is essential to strive to create a clean, tidy, and comfortable environment, continuously improve work standards and levels, and lay a solid foundation for the Company's high-quality development.
It is essential to stick fast to the "Six Persists" and take solid steps to promote the comprehensive implementation of 5S management (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain). Specifically, we must persist in demonstrating leadership and setting an example, honoring commitments, delivering on promises and delivering with excellence to enhance the penetration of the 5S management; we must persist in a combination of short-term and long-term approaches, progressing from easy to difficult tasks, moving from the superficial to in-depth implementation, and advancing in a spiral manner to establish robust long-term mechanism with continuous management improvement; we must persist in a problem-oriented approach, confront problems directly, avoid evasion, and resolve problems, making the timely discovery and resolution of problems a widely recognized conscious action; we must persist in upholding high standards and strict requirements, with standards in mind and actions based on principles, to enhance the standard awareness of employees and contractors, create exemplary models, strengthen benchmarking with best practice and actions based on set schedule; we must persist in starting from one's own position, beginning with small tasks and simplifying processes, correctly understanding the relationship between 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) management and the principle of "nipping problems in the bud", working well on preventive measures execution and minor issues treatment with good foresight to avoid major ones; and we must persist in high quality execution of simple tasks with regular inspections, evaluations, and assessments, until good habits are formed, professional competence are fostered, and standardization is achieved.
It is essential to resolutely combat formalism and bureaucratism, and eliminate extravagance and waste. It is essential to closely align with requirements at each stage of 5S management (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), promoting tasks with a pragmatic, scientific and effective approach. Functional departments should assume the role of "overall management," excel in mechanism design, establish norms and standards, unify requirements, coordinate resources such as funds and personnel, provide proactive service guidance, dare to assess and intervene, and ensure that their duties are fulfilled properly. Business teams and frontline organizations should combine with the Company's actual situations, transform mindsets, innovate practices, allocate funds wisely, establish benchmarks and standards, standardize behaviors to form habits, emphasize both quality and efficiency, and ensure 5S management (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) achieves tangible results.
Lin Xu pointed out that 5S management (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) requires the participation of all employees, from the management to the frontline shift teams, who should actively engage in it. It should cover all areas, from field units to operating rooms, from offices to public spaces, to foster a strong atmosphere where everyone has a role and everyone delivers. This should be truly translated into actions, integrated into management, and reflected in assessments. Through solid and effective 5S management (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), the intrinsic safety can be enhanced.
It was emphasized at the meeting that 5S management (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) should be regarded as a "no retreat" transformation, where "Sort and Set in order" are seen as respect for the position, "Shine and Standardize" as a commitment to safety, and "Sustain" as loyalty to the enterprise. We must optimize behavioral habits through a transformation in mindset, starting from surroundings and paying attention to details. With the courage to "turn the blade inward" and the determination for "a complete metamorphosis," we will wage a protracted battle to elevate 5S management (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), jointly creating a benchmark model for the Company's 5S management (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
At the meeting, Yang Pengfei, General Manager of Mechanical Department, reviewed the current status of the Company's 5S management (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), communicated the fundamental requirements of the management, and outlined the specific arrangements for the next phase of work.
The heads of relevant departments, business team managers, functional managers, supervisors, etc. attended the meeting. (Zhang Lei)
