On April 22, the 56th World Earth Day, the Company held the launching ceremony of the “Recycling to Gather Strength for Waste-Free Future” Initiative.

VP Mr. Haytham Zamzami attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. He pointed out that World Earth Day aims to raise public awareness of environmental protection. The Company bears in mind the concept of green development, proactively fulfills its social responsibilities, deepens pollution prevention and control, continues to promote the construction of a waste-free plant and  comprehensively enhances green and low-carbon competitiveness, taking practical actions to cherish the Earth.

Haytham Zamzami stated that this event is a specific measure for building a waste-free plant. He hopes that all employees and their families will proactively engage themselves in the activity, and start by recycling every plastic bottle around them to contribute to a waste-free future.

The co-organizer of the activity, Sun Yemin, Executive Vice General Manager of Shanghai Yeloworld Technology Co., Ltd., thanked FREP for its strong support and willingness to innovate. She mentioned that this activity will lay an important foundation for the large-scale promotion of this innovative model within the industry.

Haytham Zamzami walked up to the recycling machine, deposited an empty plastic bottle, officially kicking off the activity.

Representatives from various departments and business teams participated in the ceremony and deposited collected plastic bottles into the recycling machine, contributing to environmental protection through their actions.

The Company has placed one recycling machine and three recycling bins in the factory area, located at the Dinning Hall Corridor, Office Building, Engineer Building, and new Central Control Room, to collect plastic bottles and cans, with corresponding rewards.

It is reported that to fully implement Sinopec’s requirements for building a “Waste-Free Group”, the Company has formulated and issued the implementation plan to this end. Household waste sorting is one of the tasks, and as the leading organization, HR&A Department has taken proactive steps to develop specific plans, including projects for source-based waste reduction and resource utilization, with the bottle recycling project being one of them.
