On the morning of January 6, Fujian Petrochemical Company Limited (FPCL) held a team running event to “Welcome the New Year and Celebrate the Anniversary of the Company”. Members of the Company’s on-post leadership team, members of the leadership teams of the shareholders of FREP, Fujian Gulei Petrochemical Company and other joint ventures, as well as 37 teams from FPCL, FREP, Fujian Gulei Petrochemical Company, Linde-FPCL Gas Company Limited, Fujian Fuhua Gases Company Limited, Youcheng Public Security Bureau, Fuyuan Industrial & Trading Company Limited, Ruisheng Company, Minnan Branch of the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University, Quangang District No. 2 Experimental Primary School, Sinopec Chemical Marketing Fujian Company, Military Representative Office of the PLA General Logistics Department at FPCL participated in this event.

Everyone embraced health by exercising, welcomed the new year with running, united to gather strength, and strove to promote development.

Zhao Tianxing, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Company, delivered a speech and announced the start of the running event.

In his speech, Zhao Tianxing conveyed the greetings from Zhang Xiguo, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Company. He pointed out that, FPCL, with a history of 35 years, had ended the history of not producing a drop of oil in Fujian and achieved leapfrog development, becoming the “leader” of the petrochemical industry in Fujian Province and the backbone of Sinopec's refining and chemical sector.

He emphasized that 2024 marked a critical year for FREP to launch the “Once-6-year TA” initiative, a year for Fujian Gulei Petrochemical to sprint towards fully improving its operation and business performance improvement after all units were put into operation, and the beginning year for construction preparation of the Gulei Refining and Chemical Integrated Project (Phase II) after inclusion of the Project into planning was approved. Against this backdrop, all employees of the Company should stay committed to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, implement new development concepts, integrate themselves into the new development pattern, coordinate development and safety, and promote all-round high-quality development.

Yang Fei, Deputy Secretary of the Company’s Party Committee, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission and Chairman of the Trade Union, presided over the launching ceremony.

Faces brimming with confidence, hopes, and smiles, and figures stood tall, cheerful, and lively, bathed in the warm morning sun, full of vigor and grandeur, striding along the wide track towards the set goal.

The players strode with robust steps and raced ahead, contending with their willpower and physical prowess, encouraging one another and advancing together, embodying the spirit of “unification and striving for excellence” that is characteristic of FPCL and collectively confronting the challenges of the new year.

Before the start of the competition, various warm-up games were set up at the event site. Three performances including the Fujian Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage - Shicuo Carrying Pole Fist continued to push the atmosphere of the event to a climax.

After the competition, Company leaders presented awards to teams and individuals with outstanding performance.

The top ten organizations in this competition were: HSE Department fire protection and security delegation, Fujian Gulei Petrochemical delegation, Ruisheng Company delegation, Miannan Hospital delegation, Offsites BT delegation, Mechanical Department delegation, Olefin BT delegation, PO BT delegation, Product Quality Center delegation and FPCL Office delegation.

The Outstanding Organization Award and Sportsmanship Award were also presented for this event to commend the top 30 contestants with the best personal performance.

In 2023, we continued to work hard and forge ahead, and every employee had made extraordinary contributions in their respective positions. 2024 marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of FPCL. The Company starts with this running event to further gather the strength of employees to make them work hard in solidarity and entrepreneurship, fear no trials and hardships, move forward courageously, and make greater new contributions to promoting its high-quality development.
